to love
to share
to hold
to spare
the life
the heart
the world
the air
to feel
to find
to breathe
to sing
only today
can you show
the pride and joy
of who you are,
it is the time to be.

broken bones and broken nails
-today the sun is black,
black as the soul in your eyes,
ashes parish and turn back,
ashes pour out as i cry,
bleeding, screaming, hating you,
more than you enjoy,
defeating me is what you do,
but i've been made to distroy,
-dig your broken nails into my heart,
stab them jagged enturnal soul,
bones and flesh ripping apart,
hurting me is your goal,
-tonight the moon is shinny silver,
like the bullet wedged between my thoughts,
the broken all devour her,
untill you complicate your thouhts,
bleeding, screaming, hating you,
more our love won't enjoy,
defeating me is what you do,
we've been made to destroy,
black as the soul in your eyes,
ashes parish and turn back,
ashes pour out as i cry,
bleeding, screaming, hating you,
more than you enjoy,
defeating me is what you do,
but i've been made to distroy,

we've been made to destroy,

BayView Compass Special Section
For the month of February, St. Francis High School (specifically the Mariner Scribes) will be highlighted in a full-page spread about our experiences at Sojourner Truth House. The article was a collaboration between Mark Silva, Neil Tidquist, Sarah Thiel, and Mackenzie Carlin (and a little from Ms. Olson). Congratulations to all writers and thanks so much for your hard work! Make sure to check out the article in the February edition of the BayView Compass.

Truth House Contact
Thanks so much to Mark Silva for all of his help in maintaining our blog site! Just a quick change, though: Jessica's contact email at Sojourner Truth House is: jsweers@sojournertruthhouse.org or you can contact her through the shelter hotline; her full name is Jessica Sweers and her title is "Children's Program Manager". Our first children's workshop night is this Thursday, Jan. 17th from 6-8pm. Please come to our "after-exams" meeting on Tuesday at 11am in room 204 or see me (Ms. Olson) to confirm your attendance. We will be writing about our experiences with the children for the Bayview Compass local newspaper February issue, so make sure to make some mental notes to add to our article. See you on Tuesday!
